DETROIT - George Stanton, who served as Alberta Tinsley-Talabi's Chief of Staff while she was a member of the Detroit City Council, has been charged with accepting a bribe as part of the federal government's long investigation into the Detroit pension funds.
Stanton is accused of accepting a $15,000 cash bribe from Roy Dixon, in connection with Stanton's roll as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Police and Fire Retirement System of the City of Detroit.
Stanton was named in a superseding information in the government's case against Jeffrey Beasley, the lead defendant in the case.
