At least seven people were shot across the city Saturday night and Sunday morning.
A 17-year-old was shot about 9:15 p.m. Saturday night in the 900 block of West 95th Street in the Brainerd neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The boy walked to a CTA bus and got on but the bus driver called police and the boy was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County with a gunshot wound to his upper left chest, Alfaro said. No condition was available, but the boy's wound was not believed to be life-threatening.
About 5:15 a.m., someone shot at two cars that were driving south on Ashland Avenue between Walton Street and Chicago Avenue, grazing one of the occupants. He declined medical treatment at the scene.
The occupants of the car had left a bar and were heading south on Ashland Avenue when someone in a passing car threw gang signs and opened fire, hitting a silver sedan at least twice and a white pickup three times.
