In their marriage vows, they did say to death due us part.... Oak Lawn woman kills husband in what police call a 'tragic accident'

A 70-year-old woman struck and killed her 70-year-old husband today when he got out of their car to open a driveway gate, police said.

The woman was driving their 2010 Toyota about 12:05 p.m. when her husband got out of the car to open their driveway gate on the 10800 block of LaPorte Avenue in Oak Lawn, police said in a release.

Thinking her husband was clear of the car, the woman backed up and struck the man, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
