LaGrange Police Officers flip a coin to see who is going to shovel...

A fatal accident involving a Burlington Northern freigth train in LaGrange is causing back ups for Metra train service running on that line, officials said.
Metra train service is being affected after a freight train struck a male pedetrian in an apparent suicide in West Suburban LaGrange, said LaGrange Police Chief Michael A. Holub.

Inbound and outbound trains along the Burlington Northern Lines were stopped after the incident happened shortly after 1 p.m., according to the Metra Website.

The incident happened near Stone Avenue but did not involved a Metra train.
The La Grange Road grade crossing is but traffic in the area is impacted as the incident is investigated blocked and clean-up continues.
La Grange Police is handling along with BNSF and Metra police departments on the scene.

Trains are able to move, although they are moving slowly in the impacted area, Holub said.
