Jeannie M. Parker, 54, body found in river after son confesses to stabbing her to death and dropping her in the river

A man fishing this morning in the Des Plaines River in Channahon discovered the body of a woman who had been stabbed to death, and authorities believe she is a Joliet woman who had gone missing nearly a month ago.
 
About 8 a.m. a man who was fishing in the river behind the Hollywood Casino in Joliet, just inside Channahon, saw a body floating and called 911, said Joliet Fire Battalion Chief Laroy Aldridge.
 
Crews from the Joliet police department, fire department and the coroner's office were called to the scene, and the woman’s body was recovered, said Aldridge.
  
The victim was pronounced dead at 10:01 a.m. on the scene, according to the Will County coroner’s office.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate she died of multiple stab wounds during a homicide, according to the coroner’s office.
