EB-5 Person of the Year - Stephen Yale-Loehr

EB-5 News Blog is glad to announce that Mr. Stephen Yale-Loehr is our top choice for the title of EB-5 Person of the Year 2010.  Mr. Yale-Loehr is one of the nation's preeminent authorities on U.S. immigration and asylum law. A prolific scholar, he has written many law review articles, and is author or co-author of four standard reference works. He was editor-in-chief of The Cornell International Law Journal, and he co-authors a bimonthly column for The New York Law Journal. He teaches immigration and asylum law at Cornell Law School as an adjunct professor, and is of counsel to the Ithaca firm of Miller Mayer. Upon receiving his Cornell J.D. cum laude, Mr. Yale-Loehr clerked for Chief Judge Howard G. Munson of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York. Mr. Yale-Loehr is a member of the New York and District of Columbia bars, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is vice-chair of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) business immigration committee. Mr. Yale-Loehr is listed in Who’s Who in America and in the International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers as one of the best immigration lawyers in the world. He is the 2001 recipient of AILA’s Elmer Fried Award for excellence in teaching and the 2004 recipient of the AILA’s Edith Lowenstein Award for excellence in advancing the practice of immigration law. Mr. Yale-Loehr resigned from the post of Executive Director of IIUSA this year; however, his leadership and dedication to IIUSA over the past three years have earned him respect from many people who are involved in EB-5 program.
