Update: A person was shot near the Old Orchard Mall in Skokie Friday night, police said.
Police responding to a call of shots fired in the 4800 to 4900 blocks of Golf Road about 9:45 p.m. found one person who had been shot, police said in a statement.
Officers found one person shot, and the victim was taken to an area hospital to be treated, according to the statement. Police released no other details.
Police officials declined to release any information until this morning.
Friday night, hundreds of yards of police tape were draped throughout the mall as police appeared to be scouring the area for evidence. A van with lights was on Golf Road lighting up the area.
Security personnel ordered reporters off the property.

Dozens of police officers from Skokie were at the Old Orchard Mall this evening investigating an active crime scene, shutting down roads on the south end of the mall.
Police officials said they would not release any details until Saturday morning.
Hundreds of yards of police tape were draped throughout the mall as police appeared to be scouring the area for evidence. A van with lights was on Golf Road lighting up the area.
Security personnel ordered reporters off the property.
