The protesters were arrested after sitting and blocking elevators on the main floor of the building while chanting messages in opposition to the city's plans to close the schools, according to witnesses at the scene.
According to the Chicago Teachers Union, among those arrested was union officer “Kristine Mayle and a number of teachers, parents and community activists.”
