PO Alex Valadez - Murder Trial Update Testimony, in the trial for the two remaining defendants charged with the murder of Chicago Police Officer Alex Valadez, is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 30, 2013. The case is being heard in Room 207 at 26th and California at 9:00 am. Please make an attempt to be at this hearing to support the family of one of our fallen Officers. The Court has requested that any uniformed Officer wear an outer garment that covers his star, weapon, and Police identifiers. 55+ Healthcare Update - 106 Approved Any member between the ages of 55 and 59 who is planning to retire in 2014, while taking advantage of the premium-free healthcare benefit, must submit an electronic PAR form by October 1, 2013. At least one hundred (100) eligible applicants must apply by October 1, 2013 for this benefit to take effect. The Lodge has been notified that 106 applications have been approved and we have surpassed our goal.
