Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel got a firsthand look at crime-fighting efforts in the city as he went on a ride-along with police Supt. Garry McCarthy over the weekend.
Sunday night, the mayor and superintendent toured a few neighborhoods hit hard by gun violence: the 3rd Police District covers the Grand Crossing neighborhood, and the 6th Police District includes the Gresham community.
Mayor Emanuel spoke with officers who work those areas regularly.
