A Homewood man ran over and killed a South Side man after their mothers, who are neighbors, got into a dispute in a parking lot near their homes, prosecutors said today.Aaron Payne, 28, was ordered held in lieu of $5 million bail after being charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Andrew Prather, who died April 25 after being run over April 21, according to prosecutors.
Prather, of the 8700 block of South Burley Avenue, had been run over about 1:50 p.m. April 21 in the 100 block of West 91st Street after Payne’s mother accused Prather’s mother of almost hitting her with a car, leading to a series of confrontations, prosecutors said. He was declared dead April 25 about 4:30 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center and his death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
