Paris "Polerowski" Poe, 33, allegedly violated his parole and was on the run from authorities, the FBI said April 23 while announcing a $5,000 reward .
A federal arrest warrant was issued for Poe stating he is wanted for unlawful flight to avoid custody and confinement, and he was being sought for questioning in a federal murder investigation.
Poe, whose last address was on the 5900 block of South Indiana Avenue, was convicted of aggravated battery and robbery and served a portion of his sentence in state custody but was released in June of 2011 on parole for the remainder of his sentence, the FBI said.
Poe was taken into custody shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday on the east side of Madison without incident, according to a short news release from some of the investigating agencies, including the FBI, State of Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, Dane County Sheriff's Office, City of Madison Police Department and City of Fitchburg Police Department.
The agencies thanked the assistance of the public and the media, but said no other information was being released at this time.
