Color blind man who cannot see orange hit and killed by Chicago CTA's Orange Line train

Friday 17 May 2013

Part of the CTA's Orange Line on the Southwest Side was shut down this afternoon after a man was run over and killed by a train, authorities said.
The CTA received reports of a person who made contact with a northbound train north of the Orange Line's Halsted stop about 4:30 p.m., said CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski. The person was dead on the scene, near Archer Avenue and 23rd Place, according to the Chicago Fire Department's news office.
Power was shut off in both directions while Fire Department crews dealt with the emergency. Passengers were kept on the train while authorities tried to remove the man's body from the tracks.
A bus-shuttle was being implemented between Roosevelt and 35th Street on the line, she said.
