Sudden death of Lino Lakes, Minnesota Police Officer Chris Bragelman, 37, under investigation

LINO LAKES, Minn. — The sudden death of a 37-year-old police officer in a small Minnesota community is under investigation.

Family members of Chris Bragelman say he seemed like a young, healthy man. Bragelman was having dinner with a friend at the Blue Heron Grill in Lino Lakes when he stopped breathing early Sunday. Restaurant staff called 911, but Bragelman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bragelman and his wife, Emily, have two young children together and were raising a third from a previous marriage. Emily Bragelman told KMSP-TV that her husband's death doesn't seem real. She said he didn't have any previous health issues. KMSP reported that officials said there was "no obvious cause of death."

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation.
