An elderly man was hospitalized after he was knocked to the ground and robbed of his wallet at a Loop CTA subway station Thursday morning.
The attack happened at 10:33 a.m. in the subway in the 300 block of South Dearborn, where the Blue Line connects with the Red Line, according to police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli.
The victim, who is in his 80s, was walking up the stairs to the platform when he was knocked down and had his wallet taken, Mirabelli said.
The man suffered head and back injuries, and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition had since stabilized, Mirabelli said.
No one was in custody and police had no description of the colored offender as of early Thursday afternoon.
