Maryland Center for Foreign Investment (MCFI) received EB-5 designation on December 14, 2010. The Center is introducing its first investment project to China and Korea. Mr. John Chang, Chairman and CEO of MCFI is headed to China and Korea this month to promote Maryland Live! Casino project.
According to the Center's website, the casino project will be a 130,000 square foot integrated gaming and entertainment facility, adjacent to and integrated with the Arundel Mills Mall, a major retail, dining, and entertainment destination for the regional market, with 4,750 slot machines. It will create an estimated 3,357 permanent new jobs, increase output by $491 million per year, and raise labor income by $146 million per year. The total cost has been estimated at approximately $300 million.
