Mega Tour Groups from China Visit Las Vegas for the Lunar New Year

Over 1000 tourists in a number of tour groups from China spent Chinese New Year in Las Vegas this week. At least 15 resorts and casinos scheduled traditional Chinese lion and dragon dances during the Chinese new year. The city greeted more than 100,000 Chinese tourists in 2010, up from about 87,000 in 2006, despite there being no direct flights. Las Vegas has been the most desired tourist destination for Chinese visitors, many investors have strong interests in investing in real estate business in the city. Average spending for a tourist from China is $6000 during a typical trip in the US, about $2000 more than other international tourists.
