Chicago Police exchange gunfire with suspect in Roseland

Chicago police exchanged gunfire with a person in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side early Thursday morning, according to authorities. 

No officers were injured, but police said the gunman may have been wounded. He was still at large this morning.

The shooting happened around 12:50 a.m. as police responded to a 911 call about a group of people fighting and a man with a gun near 113th Street and Normal Avenue, police said.

Police were fired at and officers returned fire, Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said, citing early reports.

The  shooting is the fourth time since Sunday morning that police have been fired upon or fired at suspects.
