Brother wounded in accidental shooting in Elgin during Cinco De Mayo Celebration

A man was accidentally wounded by his brother when tho two were handling a revolver early this morning in unincorporated Elgin Township, police said.
About 12:30 a.m., police got a call that a man was shot inside of his home on Woodcliff Drive, according to a press release for the Kane County Sheriff's office.
Preliminary information said two brothers, both in their 20s, were handling a revolver when the revolver accidentally went off striking one of them in their abdomen, the release said.
The wounded brother was being treated for non-life threatening injuries at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, the release said.
The Kane County Sheriff's office was still investigating the incident, but no charges have been filed connected to the shooting.
