SECOND UPDATE:
FOP 7 CHICAGO UPDATE - Representative James Durkin Responds | |||
Illinois State Representative James Durkin from Western Springs is in the process of drafting a resolution that will be introduced into the Illinois House of Representatives denouncing the actions of Rep Monique Davis. The FOP lauds him for his efforts on behalf of the men and women of the Chicago Police Department. Representative Durkin has released the following statement. I stand behind the men and women who wear the badge -day and day out- protecting our neighborhoods and keeping our streets safe throughout this State, particularly those in Chicago. The most recent comments levied against the Chicago Police Department by Rep Monique Davis are outrageous and hurtful. Chicago Police officers deserve a heroes' welcome in Chicago neighborhoods-not incendiary callous remarks by an elected official. My resolution denounces Rep Davis and her shameful remarks. This resolution supports the brave men and women of law enforcement and confirms that members of the Illinois House of Representatives will not sit idly when their integrity is called into question. |
