Illegal Beaner Rafael Ramirez from Elmwood Park gets squashed like refried beans when after getting ran over on his green machine bicycle - The vehicle driver was not cited

A 33-year-old man died early this morning following a collision on Monday with a vehicle in the Northwest Side's Portage Park neighborhood, authorities said.

Rafael Ramirez, of the 7200 block of West Diversey Avenue in Elmwood Park, was declared dead at 2 a.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said.

Ramirez collided with a vehicle about 2:15 p.m. as he made a left turn from North Central Avenue onto West Addison Street, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

He was taken to Resurrection Medical Center and later transferred to Illinois Masonic.

Witnesses told police the driver had the right of way, and the driver was not cited, Estrada said.
