More details have been released regarding human remains found at Herrick Lake Forest Preserve in 2010, the DuPage County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.
The new information was made available this week as law enforcement officials asked the public for help identifying the man.
The remains were found on April 13, 2010, in an unicorporated area near Wheaton. This past winter, they were sent to the FACES lab at Louisiana State University for a digital facial reconstruction, according to a press release by the Sheriff's Office.
Results show the man was possibly of Hispanic or Native American descent, between the ages of 45 and 65, with "very distinctive dental pattern." The remains showed he had missing teeth in the front.
A release from 2010 also said the unidentified man was possibly wearing a gray extra large Hanes sweat shirt with a logo on the left front saying, "Little Nicky."
Anyone with information should call DuPage County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations at 630-407-2400. For more information on the remains, go to namus.gov, click on unidentified persons and search case number M10-125.
