Welfare momma reports "dark as a piece of coal" infant Joshua Summeries missing - More than 100 police search for missing colored infant in Zion, IL

Wednesday, 21 August 2013

A dark ass 5-month-old boy from north suburban Zion was reported abducted Wednesday, sparking a massive search by about 125 law enforcement officers, emergency workers and bloodhounds.
“There’s a chance the baby could have been harmed or worse,” said Zion Police Chief Wayne Brooks of the infant, Joshua Summeries.
“It’s an isolated incident, no one else is in danger,” said Brooks, who refused to elaborate, citing an active investigation.
Police placed a biohazard sticker on the front door of the apartment where the abduction occurred. Brooks explained the sticker by saying: “There could be any fluids, but we’re not talking about a horrendous scene, but just enough to think things aren’t right here.”
The boyfriend of the child’s mother was being questioned Wednesday night and was a person of interest, Brooks said. Several other people also were being interviewed as persons of interest, he said. Police found the boyfriend after canvassing the neighborhood and showing his picture to neighbors, Brooks said. “He put up no resistance, but it took most of the day to find him,” Brooks said.
The child’s mother was home at the time of the abduction. “I can just tell you she reported the abduction. She doesn’t know who took the baby.”
When asked if the Zion Police Department has had previous contact with the mother or her boyfriend, Brooks said: “There’s been some contact, I’m not going to go into it.”
“We still don’t know where the infant is, and it’s breaking my heart,” Brooks said.
Earlier Wednesday, Zion Mayor Lane Harrison said: “They think the child is alive and they’re going about [the investigation] believing the child is alive.”
Brooks issued a brief statement Wednesday evening that said the infant was reported missing Wednesday morning from a Zion apartment.
