Police said they are questioning someone in the shooting death of a 62-year-old woman found in the parking lot of a Burr Ridge church overnight.
The woman was found about 1 a.m. outside St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Chicago at 455 79th St. in Burr Ridge, police said.
"Officers responded to the St. Mark's Coptic Church for a report of a gunshot victim," Burr Ridge Deputy Police Chief Marc Loftus said. "Upon their arrival they found a 62-year-old female in need of medical assistance.”
The woman was taken to Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and pronounced dead there about 1:40 a.m.
Police are questioning a person who called 911, he said.
Loftus called the shooting "an isolated incident" and said the community was not in danger.
