Kira Mammoser, 9, loses her battle with rare disease just weeks after Chicago police horses & the officers from the mounted unit visited her

May 31, 2013 (PARK RIDGE, Ill.) (WLS) -- Nine-year-old Kira Mammoser, who had her wish granted by the Chicago Police Department in May, has died.

She was battling a very rare disease and loved animals. Police officers brought horses to Advocate Children's Hospital in Park Ridge so she could see them up close.
