At least 8 people were shot overnight across Chicago.
A 30-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot in the South Deering neighborhood Saturday night, officials said. The man was shot at about 7 p.m. on the 2500 block of East 104th Street, police said. The man was shot in the left side of his body and was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center, according to police and the Chicago Fire Department.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the 11400 block of South Halsted Street about 11 p.m., Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. He was walking on a sidewalk in the Roseland neighborhood when someone shot him in the foot. He’s was taken to Roseland Hospital.
Another man was shot in the right ankle about the same time in the 200 block of West 112th Place, police said. He was standing on the 2nd-floor landing of an apartment building in the block. Police said he and two others that may be involved – a woman and a current or former boyfriend of hers – are not cooperating with investigators.
About 1:10 a.m. a 23-year-old man was shot near Central Avenue and Washington Street in the Austin neighborhood. His family dropped him off at West Suburban Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the right foot.
