Three teenagers charged with attempted murder in the shooting of a 4-year-old girl as she rode her scooter near her grandmother's home early this week have been ordered held in lieu of bail, authorities said.
Laquan Waters, 18, Tyrese Pearson, 17, and Roosevelt Stevens, 15, have been charged with attempted murder in the shooting about 4:55 p.m. Monday of Khalise Weatherspoon. Stevens has been charged as an adult.
In a hearing midday today in Cook County Central Bond Court, Waters and Stevens were each ordered held in lieu of $1 million bail, while Pearson was ordered held in lieu of $900,000.
Pearson, whose bail is $100,000 less than the other two, acted as a lookout and might have caused a distraction at the time of the shooting, prosecutors said. Waters and Stevens carried out the shooting, prosecutors said. Waters used a .45-caliber handgun and Stevens used a .380-caliber handgun, prosecutors said today.
