REMEMBER: Racial Profiling Works

The victim of an auto burglary in Wilmette used cellphone tracking software to lead police to an Evanston man who has now been charged with burglary in Wilmette, authorities said.
Austin A Marcus, 24, of the 1900 block of Dempster Avenue in Evanston, has been charged with a felony count of burglary, police said.
On July 11, a man told Wilmette police that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Koerper Court and took his cellphone. The man told police that his cellphone tracking software application showed that phone was in Evanston, authorities said.
Wilmette police told Evanston police about the burglary, giving a description of the phone and the general location of the phone. At approximately 6 a.m. on July 11, Evanston police located Marcus in the 1900 block of Dempster Avenue and authorities said the phone was recovered during a consensual search.
