Four car burglaries occurred within 24 hours in the area west of Central Avenue and south of the Southwest Metra tracks. The burglaries occurred between the overnight hours of June 27 and the morning of June 28. Police said the perpetrator stole items from several unlocked vehicles in driveways and along streets in the area.

One resident in the 9900 block of South Major Avenue reported his home security capturing video of a male in his 20s or 30s between 11 p.m. and midnight on June 27. The resident told police the perpetrator entered the resident's car and helped himself to a pair of Prada sunglasses and loose change. The man, described as wearing a black and gray hoodie, also checked a car in the neighbor's driveway, which was locked, before moving on down the street.

Two more car burglaries occurred in which several power tools were stolen from two vehicles on different blocks of South Cicero Avenue on June 28. One burglary occurred in the 9300 block of South Cicero during the day, another in the 10500 block in the evening. Tools stolen include six drills, three finish saws, a door frame saw, a finish gun and a sander.

The seventh burglary of the week occurred in the parking at Huck Finn Restaurant, at 9217 S. Cicero Ave. According to the police report, two people broke the rear window of a vehicle between 9 and 11 p.m. on July 3 and took a bank checkbook and an "older" HP laptop. Three men were spotted leaving the scene in a red Dodge or Chrysler.
