Body of woman believed to be civilian employee of NYPD found stuffed inside trash can of her Bronx apartment

Sunday, 21 July 2013

Cops found a 29-year-old woman dead, stuffed inside a trash can in her Bronx apartment, police sources said.
Officers discovered the body of the victim, who was not immediately identified, in her Walton Ave. home, a block from the Grand Concourse, about 5:40 a.m. Sunday, officials said.
Cops took the victim’s 52-year-old common-law husband into custody. He is expected to be charged, police sources said.
The victim is believed to be a civilian employee of the NYPD, sources and neighbors said. She and the suspect were raising four kids together, neighbors said.
Police discovered her body in the first-floor apartment after the livery cab the suspect drives, a maroon Lincoln Town Car, was seen parked on the sidewalk in front of the building, police said.
Cops say the body was not decomposed and they believe the victim died recently.
The city medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine how she died.
