The Fourth of July parade in Bangor, Maine, has been marred by two disasters in the same day.
First, the parade had to be re-routed after a crazed man barricaded himself in an apartment near the path of the parade and fired more than 70 shots out his window to keep police at bay.
Then, an antique fire truck in the parade ran over and killed a man who had tipped over his tractor while making a sharp turn on the new parade route.
The horror left parade watchers in downtown Bangor stunned.
