Probationary Officer Wandt, 30, was traveling home from the Police Training Institute in Champaign, Illinois when she was involved in a tragic motor vehicle accident that took her life. She was recently appointed as a Police Officer for the village on July 8, 2013.
Our thoughts are with Officer Wandt, her family and the entire Coal City Police Department. May our blue lights cast their glow from coast to coast across the night sky to guide this young Officer home. Rest easy.
