A 58-year old woman charged with defacing portions of the Washington National Cathedral is in the country illegally.
When police arrested her she had green paint all over her clothes and was carrying a can full of green paint as well.
According to The Washington Times, Jia M. Tian has a Chinese passport but "was traveling on an expired visa when arrested."
She has been ordered to wear a GPS bracelet so she can be "monitored by both federal immigration and local officials" once she is released from jail. During that time she will be in "removal proceedings," although ICE has agreed to allow court proceedings to run their course before deporting Tian.
Upon being released from jail, Tian will be kept in a halfway house until her trial begins.
