A Joliet man was shot to death this morning as he sat with his wife and two children in a crowded restaurant in the southwest suburban city, authorities said.
Another Joliet man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the slaying of Gerardo Franchini, 29, police said this afternoon. Franchini was declared dead at 12:13 p.m. today at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, according to the Will County coroner's office.
Franchini, of Joliet, was in a booth at Louis's Family Restaurant, 1001 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet, with his family.
