A 21-year-old woman has been charged with robbing a Morgan Park neighborhood beauty supply shop last month, allegedly stealing cash and thousands of dollars worth of hair extensions after pepper-spraying employees and beating them with a cell phone.
Timesha Brown and a man walked into the store in the 11100 block of South Western Avenue on three separate occasions on the morning of Monday June 3, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.
On the third trip, just before noon, the man pulled out a handgun and Brown sprayed one of the two clerks, a 57-year-old woman, with pepper spray, Mirabelli said. The other clerk, a 21-year-old woman, also got pepper spray in her face, he said. One of the two victims had an allergic reaction to the spray, prosecutors said on Saturday.
