Saturday, 22 June 2013

Two are seen crying in a car while waiting to find out what hospital a shooting victim was taken to. Chicago police investigated the scene where multiple people were shot in the 2900 block of N. Kilpatrick Ave
One person was killed and three others wounded in a shooting in the Kelvyn Park neighborhood this evening, authorities said.
The man who died was 21. A 30-year-old man was shot in the back, a 28-year-old man was shot in the arm and side and a 17-year-old girl was shot in her head and wrist, police said. The three survivors were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and are all in serious condition, police said.
The four were on a home's porch when a man or boy came up and shot at them, said Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan. News Affairs had no further details to release.
Five ambulances were called to the scene of the shootings in the 2900 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue about 8 p.m., according to the Fire Department's news office.
Neighbors on the scene said they saw three men and one woman who live in the brick bungalow removed on stretchers from the house. Some children also live there, but apparently were not wounded, the neighbors said.
Police confirmed three men and a woman were found with gunshot wounds, citing preliminary information: three on the front porch and one at the bottom of an inside staircase.
Three victims were in critical condition at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and the other victim was taken to Stroger Hospital but was declared dead there.
The Cook County medical examiner's office was notified that one person, a man in his 20s, was dead from the shooting. No other details were available.
Numerous shell casings could be seen outside the home.
