Authorities in west suburban Aurora are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver of an SUV that hit and seriously injured a 13-year-old boy before fleeing the scene Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The boy was trying to cross Talma Street at 5th Avenue when he was hit by what witnesses are saying was a dark-colored Nissan Pathfinder that was headed eastbound on 5th Avenue, according to Aurora police spokesman Dan Ferrelli.
The SUV, being driven by a woman, continued eastbound on 5th Street to northbound Jackson Street after the 5 p.m. crash, according to witnesses.
