RAHM EMANUEL'S SANCTUARY CITY OF CHICAGO - No bail for illegal beaner Edwin Hernandez, 30, charged with molesting 13-year-old girl with autism

Wednesday, 26 June 2013

An Albany Park illegal beaner who prosecutors said admitted to sexually assaulting a 13-year-old autistic girl he later described as “sick in the head” was held without bail Sunday.
Edwin Hernandez, 30, of the 4600 block of North Lawndale, has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and home invasion for allegedly molesting the girl who Assistant State’s Attorney Bridget O’Brien said has the mental capacity of a 2- or 3-year-old.
Hernandez is friends with the girl’s baby sitter, O’Brien said, and met the victim at the baby sitter’s home. He learned where the girl lives, O’Brien said, and watched her through her bedroom window at least three times.
Once, the prosecutor said, Hernandez entered the victim’s home but was startled and fled when he heard someone.
But on June 16, on the way home from the Puerto Rican Festival, O’Brien said Hernandez again went to the girl’s window around 2 a.m., pushed it open, climbed into the room where she was sleeping and began to molest her.
O’Brien said someone heard him and alerted the girl’s parents after he left. When her parents entered the victim’s room, O’Brien said, they found muddy footprints on the window sill and called police.
The prosecutor said police matched Hernandez to DNA found on the victim. His fingerprints were also found outside her bedroom window.
Hernandez was arrested Friday night in the 5000 block of North Pulaski, according to police reports.
O’Brien said Hernandez admitted to the assault and said he thought the girl was 10 or 11. He allegedly told police he knew the girl was “sick in the head, and her mind was not right.”
