Motorcyclist Eric Leathers, 47, of Huntsville, Ala. killed on the Dan Ryan Expressway

UPDATED WITH CORRECTED INFORMATION: An Alabama motorcyclist was pronounced dead after he struck a parked construction vehicle on the Dan Ryan Expressway this morning, officials said.
Eric Leathers, 47, of Huntsville, Ala., was killed after he struck a construction vehicle parked on the shoulder of the northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and Illinois State Police.
The accident happened near 87th Street on the expressway, officials said.
The man was dead at the scene but was pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County at 9:10 a.m., officials said.
