CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -
A body was found floating in the water off the 39th Street beach Wednesday morning, police said.
About 6:25 a.m. police were notified that a body was seen in the waters of Lake Michigan near the 3900 block of South Lake Shore Drive, police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.
Estrada said the Chicago Police Marine Unit is on scene working to recover the body.
Estrada confirmed the body was that of a white male, although his age or other identifying information was not immediately available.
A University of Chicago student went missing from the college's nearby Hyde Park campus last week. Austin Hudson-Lapore, 20, was last seen on June 12 leaving his apartment in the 5300 block of South Kimbark Avenue.

A third-year biochemistry student at the University of Chicago went missing and his family suspects Austin Hudson-Lapore, 20, had ventured out to watch the storms passing through the city.
