A man was shot to death in the Marquette Park neighborhood and at least four other people were wounded in shootings across Chicago overnight.
Police discovered the dead man around 10:30 p.m. in the 6300 block of South Francisco Avenue, a few doors north of 64th Street. No name was being released, and the man was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Relatives said he was 30 years old.
Around the same time, a 22-year-old man was shot in the 1200 block of West 73rd Place in Englewood and was listed in good condition at Saint Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center.
Another person was shot moments later in the 1600 block of East 70th Street in the South Shore neighborhood. The 24-year-old man was grazed in the head and taken to Jackson Park Hospital.
Around 12:05 a.m., a 27-year-old man was shot several times in the 6500 block of South Eberhart Avenue in the West Woodlawn neighborhood.
