Chicago Style Eviction - Man found shot to death as an eviction notice was being served on him - Hmmmm, maybe that is why he hasn't been paying the rent?

A man in his 60s was found shot to death as an eviction notice was being served at his Hyde Park home.

Police were called to a condominium complex in the 1000 block of East 53rd street about 9:50 a.m., according to Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. 

The man was found inside his home, Mirabelli said.

The Cook County medical examiner's office, citing preliminary information, said the man apparently suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the neck. His name was not being released.

Police were conducting a death investigation.
