A woman whose husband killed a man who had come to their home to pay for sex with her got a lecture from a judge today who sentenced her to two years of probation. WOW! A lecture and probation for the murder of your "John".... talk about going easy on crime!
“You are a 30-year-old woman with three children,” McHenry County Judge Sharon Prather told Kimberly Smith today. “It is way past time, Ma’am, you get your life in order, learn how to be a mother and straighten up. ... It’s time to be a responsible citizen.”
Smith pleaded guilty to making a false police report following the 2011 shooting by her husband in the couple’s home outside Woodstock. Smith, who has a prior criminal record, was sentenced to 180 days in jail, but with time served, she was due to be released Sunday, officials said. She also must pay a $500 fine, continue attending mental health, drug and alcohol counseling and go to parenting classes.
