A 15-year-old boy was in good condition after being shot outside Roosevelt High School on the Northwest Side this afternoon, officials said.
The boy, a student at the school, was at a bus stop in the 4700 block of North Kimball Avenue in the Albany Park neighborhood when two "juveniles" shot him while trying to rob him around 2:25 p.m., according to police.
The robbers, who apparently are not students at the school, were arrested and were being questioned by police. A gun was recovered, police said.
The boy was shot in the thigh and was taken to St. Francis Hospital in good condition, said Chicago Fire Department Spokesman Larry Langford. The high school is at 3436 W. Wilson Ave.
The shooting occurred as classes let out. Chicago Public School officials said they were looking into the incident and could not provide immediate comment.
