A man who was being held at the Cook County Jail escaped a work detail at an animal-control facility Saturday but was rearrested hours later as he waited for a getaway ride at a fast-food chicken joint on the North Side.
Vincent Tervel apparently walked away from the Animal Care & Control facility in the 2700 block of South Western Avenue at about 11:30 a.m., Cook County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cara Smith said.
