Detectives are warning South Side residents about a man who at least twice this month has posed as a federal agent and robbed people.
The man robbed people about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday and about 3 p.m. Sept. 15, both in the South Chicago Police District, according to an alert issued Friday.
“Basically if you have an individual that approaches you and says they’re some type of law enforcement official or agent, then you should ask for some type of identification,” said Sgt. Yul Cousins of the Chicago Police Department.
In both the Sept. 15 robbery in the 7700 block of South Colfax Avenue and the Tuesday robbery in the 8100 block of South Paxton Avenue, the man was driving a tan sport-utility vehicle with temporary plates, police said.
