A person was shot and a Chicago police officer was injured in a vehicle accident, both near the same scene on the Far South Side in the city's Fernwood neighborhood.
About 8:26 p.m., Chicago Fire Department paramedics responded to a shooting on the 10000 block of South State Street, according to Fire Media.
A male victim was taken in good condition to Roseland Community Hospital. His age was not immediately available, according to Fire Media.
An officer also was injured in a motor vehicle accident at the same location. The officer, whose age and gender was not immediately available, was taken in good condition to Little Company of Mary Hospital, according to Fire Media.
