CAUGHT ON TAPE: THE SIMPLE GESTURE BY 11-YEAR-OLD BOY (Max Siepert) THAT LIFTED THE MORALE OF AN ENTIRE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Tuesday 17 September 2013

An 11-year-old boy in Greenfield, Wis., felt compelled to donate money to his local police station after learning about the heroic actions of police officers and firefighters in the aftermath of the deadly 9/11 attacks in New York City.

The boy, Max Siepert, walked into the police station in Greenfield last week and gave $10.03 to the front desk officer.

Then he walked away.

The gesture moved police officers so much that they used surveillance footage to track the boy down so they could thank him.

Siepert was extremely humble when he was outed as the generous stranger.

“One day it will make a difference… not a really big difference, but it’s something. If every person would do that it’d be such a great world. It would be awesome!” he excitedly
told WISN-TV.

Assistant Police Chief Paul Schlecht said the generous act, which was a first for the station, has lifted the morale of the entire police station. “The money will go to the police foundation,
” WISN-TV reports.
