A man charged with storming his way into a Hoffman Estates home earlier this month with three men and an assault rifle was ordered held on $300,000 bail, officials said.
Jarvis James, of the 3000 block of Lynn Court in Arlington Heights, is charged with home invasion and armed robbery with a firearm, according to Hoffman Estates police.
Police said that about 9:43 p.m. on April 10, police responded to the 700 block of Bode Circle after residents reported that four men forced their way into the home.
According to the prosecutor, James, 20, of the 3000 block of Lynn Court in Arlington Heights, was one of four men who entered the apartment and threatened to shoot the three men present.
One of the men was armed with an AR-15 assault rifle and threatened the people, police said.
During the robbery, the prosecutor said one of the four men said to the residents, "Your roommate got you in trouble, huh?"
The men took a wallet, an XBox game console, a Wii game console and Wii games.
The four men were all intentionally trying to conceal their identities, but one man recognized James by his voice and hair in a braided bun from when they both attended Harper College, the prosecutor said.
After some investigation, police arrested James on April 24 and charged him with the crime. Police are still investigating and trying to find the others involved, according to police.
