The driver's family members will be selling his fancy rims & wheels while he is in the hospital

A man was shot while driving in the West Pullman neighborhood this morning, crashing into a parked van and then smashing into a garage, police said.

The man, 38, was shot twice and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious to critical condition. 

He was driving a red Chevy Caprice when someone started firing from the street in the 600 block of West 117th Street, Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

The driver tried to speed away and lost control of his car in the 11500 block of South Lowe Avenue, Mirabelli said.

No one was in custody, Mirabelli said.
